Now, use the following labels and your link #'s to label your stations, using the blank paper and marker provided. Then tape the label to your "station" as modeled including the number.
1. Politics in the Heian Court
2. The Heian Shrine at Kyoto 3. At the Emperor's Court 4a. The Tale of Genji 4b. Lady Murasaki Shikibu 5. Feudal Japan |
6. The Rise of the Samurai

11. The Three Unifiers
12a. Oda Nobunaga 12b. Toyotomo Hideyoshi 12c. Tokugawa Ieyasu 13. Turning Inward 14. West Meets East |
Next, use the Station Story Frames (you'll have a hard copy) to sketch the main idea of what you find at the station, and beneath your drawing, write the date (or approximate date range) of the event, and a short summary of what happened. For image-only stations, you will need to Google information based on the label of the station. Use the iPad at your station, but open a new tab. Do not close out of the station's tab.
You will work in pairs (your pair is the individual who shares the same button link(s) as you). Different stations take different amounts of time (between 5-10 minutes total), and you must go to each station. You'll all start at one assigned to you, and then move freely to stations that are open. There are 2 of every station except #14 (as we don't have enough students to make the pair for the station). Grace should work with Emily and Lexi.

3. World History Intro--beginning our lessons! Including a World Map Scavenger Hunt
Homework, in parts, but not actually too extensive:
Find colorful magazine or clip art pictures of blues, browns (dark and light), greens (dark and light), and whites. These should be hard copy and ready to bring in. If you do not have access to such things, then color at least five strips of each color, and bring in more if possible (the more the better!). If possible, bring glue sticks!
Then, please find, on your iPad, images of at least 15 people from different countries/ regions of the world (a simple Google search of "people from around the world" or "faces of the world" or "What do different people look like in the world" into Google Images would serve just fine here. Save these pictures to your Google images, and make a list or label which country they belong to.
We will use the items you bring to class on Monday to create world maps in 30 minutes. This will be a timed contest in groups. It would be helpful to also look at a world map if you wish to give an edge to your group.
